Why you're seeing "Too many requests" on your dashboard widgets [Tip #57 Carolina from Support]

Hey y’all! Carolina from support here!

I had a customer this week run into a “Too many requests, try again later” message on a few widgets. I figured the question might come up for others too, so here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on and how to handle it.

What’s happening…That message shows up when you hit one of the API rate limits on your account. Different queries use different limits, so the trigger isn’t always the same, but the result is the same: the widget stops loading until the limit resets.

In this case, you just need to wait it out. The rate limits reset automatically after 1 minute and the widgets will load normally again.

The default values depend on the specific limit and on your plan, so the threshold isn’t a single number across the board. You can find the full list of limits and what each one controls here.

If your dashboard is consistently hitting one of these limits, open a support ticket and we can take a look at your setup to make sure nothing’s off.

Hope this saves someone a debugging session

Let me know in the comments if you’ve run into something similar or have any questions about this.

Happy Weekend,
