Why are my new resources still blocked after purchase? [Tip #3 Carolina from Support]

Hi y’all, Carolina from the Support team here again!

I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start :slightly_smiling_face:

Today’s tip is especially for users who work with multiple profiles.

Increasing resource limits is simple, but there’s one detail that can trip people up. When you purchase more services (Run Users, File Storage, Push notifications, etc.), and you have more than one profile, you need to allocate them in the right profile(s) for them to be used.

First of all, you need to buy the Services: go to Billing > Services and upgrade/increase the service limits you need.

After this, is the step many people miss, you need to allocate it: go to Resource Allocation and distribute those services to the specific profile(s) where you want to use them.

Here we go with an example of a common mistake… what customers usually do:

  • Buy 100 Run Users in Billing and then try to add users in their application.

    Surprisingly: it is BLOCKED!

And then the customer thinks: “I just paid for this… why isn’t it working?”

What’s actually happening:

  • The 100 Run Users were added to the customer’s account total, but the profile he is using still has 0 allocated to it. So his application can’t use them yet!

I hope this tip can help other customers avoid this mistake as well!

Happy week!
