Tips and tricks to customize your TagoRUN sidebar

The importance of your TagoRUN sidebar

The sidebar of your TagoRUN application is very important to make the user experience better, as this usability directly influences the user’s opinion of your TagoRUN.

Here you can see an example of a sidebar configured in a TagoRUN application:

Tip: Make sure that the buttons you have added to the sidebar are accessible to all users, by creating Policies in the Access Management section.

Note: The same buttons will be visible to all users that access your application. You can’t set buttons to be visualized only for certain users.

To make the best use of the sidebar, you can go far beyond customizing button icons, colors, and text. What you should do is to use the button action differently. You don’t need to have buttons just to open dashboards, you can also use them to show a HTML file content or an iFrame to your users.

Tip: If you don’t know how to show a HTML file content or an iFrame to your RUN users, you should look on these two posts here on TagoIO Community: Using iFrames in your RUN and Using custom HTML Files in your RUN application
