I didn’t see any averaging formula in the pulldown for reference lines.
It would be cool to do something like this: average($VALUE$,20) as an example. Where 20 would be the number of prior values to average.

Wow, a see value at this feature request too!
Not sure about the feasibility of this though, let’s see what the technical team at TagoIO will say…
Hello Marlan,
From a technical perspective, it is entirely feasible to extend the new Data Analytics feature to reference lines as well. Additionally, with this improvement, you would be able to calculate the average and, if necessary, apply a formula to that calculation, similar to how it is currently done with the Chart’s Data From variables.
Well, I have captured your suggestion internally as a feature request and will ensure that this discussion is brought to our team for consideration in our roadmap. By the way, we have moved this topic to the Feature Request category. Feel free to add new feature requests by posting your ideas there.

Neat response team. Currently I have to Calc the average and put it in the bucket. Or stop being lazy and add a custom widget that is a line chart that averages things and plots a trailing average.
My application is water monitoring. Also I would like to use it for general smoothing of the data. A similar function would be a simple sum - great for totaling water usage, kw hours usage and more.
And it would run display costs up but drive down storage and analysis cost. But way more flexible.
