How to reduce data output usage [Tip #1 Carolina from Support]

Hi y’all, Carolina from the Support team here

Another tip that I would like to share with you. One of the most common questions we receive is about issues with data output limits, so I’m here to share a few tips that can be useful for anyone using TagoIO.

First, some basic concepts. What is Data Output?

Think of Data Output as the “data leaving” the TagoIO platform. Every time a variable’s record is read from storage - for example, in an export, or in Analysis, it counts as 1 transaction.

Here we go with the tips:

  1. When you create an analysis, specify the device where the data is coming from. This helps a lot to prevent analyses from consuming unnecessary data.
  2. When you export documents, filter to include only the variables you actually need to export.
  3. Using metadata is also a good way to save on data consumption! You can store multiple variables in a single metadata.

So, what do you think? Got any other tips to share? Let me know here! It might help someone else out too :slightly_smiling_face:

Cheers,
