This guide explains how to integrate ZenMeasure’s wireless Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) temperature and humidity tags with the TagoIO IoT platform.
ZenMeasure’s wireless sensors can connect to TagoIO through multiple methods, including the T-Tags mobile application for Bluetooth connectivity and the MOT-G102 BLE gateway for real-time data reporting.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- TagoIO account (Sign up)
- ZenMeasure wireless BLE temperature/humidity tags
- T-Tags mobile application (App Store | Android) or ZenMeasure’s BLE Gateway (pre-configured by ZenMeasure), which will be used to send data to TagoIO
Quick Setup Overview
- Create a device in TagoIO with HTTPS connector
- Copy the Device Token
- Configure T-Tags app with the token
- Connect your BLE tag or Gateway and upload data
Step 1: TagoIO Device Setup
Creating a Device for Your Wireless Tag
- In TagoIO, navigate to Devices → Add Device
- Select HTTPS as the connector type
- Name your device descriptively (e.g., “ZenMeasure BLE Temperature Tag”)
- Save and copy the Device Token - this unique credential authenticates your wireless sensor
This token is the unique credential for your device to authenticate and send data to TagoIO. Please keep it secure.
Step 2: Connecting BLE Tags via T-Tags App
The T-Tags mobile application provides seamless Bluetooth connectivity between your wireless temperature/humidity tags and TagoIO. It allows you to connect your tag to your mobile device and send the data directly to TagoIO.
If you intend to use the Gateway instead, please skip to Step 3 of this tutorial.
App Configuration
-
Download T-Tags App
-
Configure Token
- Open T-Tags and navigate to Settings
- Find Token Configuration
- Paste the Device Token from TagoIO
- The app is now linked to your Device created on TagoIO.
Connecting Your Bluetooth Tag
- Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device
- Open T-Tags and tap Scan
- Scan the QR code on the front side of the BLE tag
- The app will establish a Bluetooth connection and begin reading stored data
Data Upload Process
-
Scan and Read
- Use T-Tags to scan your wireless temperature tag
- The app connects via Bluetooth and downloads stored measurements
-
Review Data
- Tap View Report to see data summary
- Check temperature and humidity readings
- Verify the time range of collected data
-
Upload to TagoIO
- Press Upload Report button
- Data transmits from your BLE tag through the app to TagoIO
- Confirmation appears when upload completes
Note: The T-Tags app may display limited historical data (e.g., last 6 days). For wireless tags with extended logging periods, ensure you select the appropriate date range during upload.
Step 3: Alternative - Connect Using the MOT-G102 Bluetooth Gateway
For continuous, real-time monitoring of your wireless BLE sensors without a mobile device, you can use ZenMeasure’s Gateway, which have the following features:
- Pre-configured by ZenMeasure for plug-and-play operation
- Automatic Bluetooth scanning for nearby wireless tags
- Real-time data forwarding to TagoIO
- Supports multiple BLE sensors simultaneously
Setup
- Power on the MOT-G102 gateway
- Place within Bluetooth range of your wireless tags (typically 10-30 meters)
- The gateway automatically discovers and connects to compatible BLE sensors
- Data streams directly to your TagoIO device
Now Create Your Own Visualizations or Export Your Data
Once your wireless Bluetooth tags are sending data, you are now free to start creating your own Dashboards to visualize your data. You can start from scratch or download one of the several dashboard templates available here: TagoIO IoT - Dashboard Templates
If you prefer to export your data for offline analysis, check this documentation on how to export data from your Devices in TagoIO: Data Export | TagoIO Docs
