Changing thousand and decimal separators at TagoRun

@Aline Tusi

With just a few steps, TagoRun users (users that log in into your RUN application) can change the format of decimal separators in their own accounts.

For this example, let’s use this dashboard that has a few widgets with numbers.

Note that in the first image, the thousand separator is a dot and the decimal separator is a comma.

Let’s change the decimal separator to a dot.
To do so, click on your name on the corner, then on my account.

Go to the visualization preferences tab and select the decimal separator that you want and save.

Now, going back to the dashboard, note that the thousand separator is a comma and the decimal separator is a dot.

TIP: If the value is a string, for example: “1,112.23” the system will not apply the user settings in the visualization. So, my tip is to use Number format in the values of the data whenever possible.

Please, let us know in the comments below if you enjoyed this tip!

Cheers!

Hi there, I changed the “decimal separator” setting and work properly just in my computer, but it seems to be impossible to change the dot and comma setting in tago run app. what can I do to change it in the tago run APP ?

Hi @granados, have you checked if you’re in the same account that you’ve changed the visualization settings in?
Make sure to check that the account you are using on your phone also has these settings applied. Also, make sure the values in your widget aren’t string typed, since that wouldn’t let it apply the users visualization settings.

The string is the problem, because in the widget y set as number but in the bucket is stored as a string. What can I do ? Please refer to screenshots attached.

bucket (cristalin VARIABLE)

Widget (cristalin VARIABLE)

Hmm, strange. Is your form button set to “Send to bucket”? Like the image below:

I’ve checked here, and the form is working as intended when sending numbers. Are you running an analysis? If so, maybe you are altering its type in the analysis.

Yes, de button is set correctly. No analysis running. I found that when I put a number and then submit, the variable is stored correctly as a number, if it is empty in the bucket it is stored as a blank string . Anyway the problem continue, the app doesn’t get the setting “.” “,”

Hmm, I tried to replicate your problem here and the same problem has occurred, this might have to do with the mobile app not fully applying the account visualization preferences. In this case I’m going to have to ask you to wait a little while we check this out.

thank you @freddy, please let me know when this bug has been fixed because it’s confusing for our users.
