Hello!

Is there any way to migrate the historic data from a device to another? For example, I have a quantity of data acquired from a device in it bucket. If I change the device due to a hardware problem (damaged device) I can migrate the history of readings to another device which will be installed in the same proccess? Can I simply exchange the bucket between the two devices?

Thanks

Hi Ricardo,

Under Devices you have an option to change the device’s bucket. See attached.

Dear Guillermo.
I am currently facing the same problem, I have a device that has started to fail after 6 months of constant use, logically I also have a lot of data stored in the bucket. So if I create a new device, from my dashboard I will not be able to see the old data. My question is: What solution can the Tago team give us for this common problem of a lorawan device with a single DEVEUI failing and having to be replaced? As a new DEVEUI, is there no way to link the new device’s bucket to the old device’s bucket and continue filling it with data?

I am very grateful for any possible solutions or suggestions you can give me. I look forward to your comments.

Hi Loratech,

If I got right. You don’t need to create a new device, just create a new token with the new EUI. So you will have the old data and will start receiving data from the new hardware.

It seems that with the new storage, the bucket and device are hard linked.

As the friend well said months ago, this is a scenario that can happen often.

Is there a way of changing the device that is sending data to a bucket in the new storage?

Thanks

Hi Bruno,

It’s not possible to change the bucket from the device.

+1 for being able to swap a device.

What is the option for retaining historical data for a dashboard if the device is swapped at a location?
